Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How far is it to Glacier National Park?
A: Approximately 70 miles.

Q: Fishing Opportunities?
A: The Swan River is less than a 1/4 mile away.  24 to 30 inch trout can be caught in this river.

Q:  Are there other cabins in the area?
A:  The Overlook Cabin is very private.  There are about ten cabins along a mile stretch of road.  However, only one cabin is passed on the way in.

Once you pass the driveway of this cabin, you enter the gate to the Overlook cabin.

There is a driveway that winds around to a very private area.  If you step out onto the driveway toward the gate you can see the other cabin, but for the most part you can't.

Q:  Where is the best place to buy groceries?
A:
Driving in from the south there is a complete market in Seeley Lake.  From the north, Bigfork has a very nice market as well.  Closer to the cabin is a small market at the Sinclair gas station about 10 miles south.  It is perfect for a quick trip to grab things you forgot.

Q:  Can I hunt on the property?
A:
Yes, as long as you have a valid hunting license, you are allowed to hunt on our property.  Beyond the property is state land, which is also a legal hunting.  Always check your regulations for the final word on hunting legally.

Q:  How do I get an out of state fishing license?
A:
You can get an application at the Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks website.
